For the sake of the church, this place needs serious help.

I attended this college and graduated in 2008. I was given many opportunities to travel abroad and work before graduation. The school and professors are truly God-fearing and amazing. Just don't let them know you attended public school your whole life! :) Great school...but call system is flawed.

Martin Luther College is a top-notch educational institution with a particular focus on preparing public servants of the gospel. I am privileged and blessed to have studied there.

"Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple." Romans 16: 17-18 (KJV)

"Lastly, it was very foolish for the adversaries to write that men who are under eternal wrath merit the remission of sins by an act of love, which springs from their mind since it is impossible to love God, unless the remission of sins be apprehended first by faith." Defense of the Augsburg Confession [II (36)]

"And because "to be justified" means that out of unjust men just men are made, or born again, it means also that they are pronounced or accounted just. For Scripture speaks in both ways. Accordingly we wish first to show this, that faith alone makes of an unjust, a just man, i.e., receives remission of sins." Defense of the Augsburg Confession [II (72)]

Never felt better than the day I transferred out of there. Run far away. Transferring to a different college, a very caring one, in fact, was the best decision I ever made.

“Therefore my doctrine is true, pure, sure, and divine. Nor can there can be any doctrine that is different from mine, much less better. Therefore, any doctrine at all that does not teach as mine does – that all men are sinners and are justified solely by faith in Christ – must be false uncertain, evil, blasphemous, accursed, and demonic. And so are those who either teach or accept such a doctrine.” Luther’s Works: Volume 26, p.59 [Galatians 1:10]

"Also, we reject and condemn the error of the Enthusiasts, who imagine that God without means, without the hearing of God's Word, also without the use of the holy Sacraments, draws men to Himself, and enlightens, justifies, and saves them." The Epitome of The Formula of Concord [II (13)]

Martin Luther College has a wonderful WELS Lutheran atmosphere and excellent professors who know what they're talking about and who want to help their students learn and grow. The campus looks really nice, and New Ulm makes for a quiet and friendly neighborhood.

Not related to a member of the public ministry? Forget about getting any respect from professors. Pretty elitist, which is incredibly sad. Members of the public ministry should be humble servants. Instead, most people here view themselves in a 'holier than thou' light.

“For it is impossible that remission of sins should occur, and the terrors of death and sin be overcome by any work or anything, except by faith in Christ, according to Rom. 5:1: Being justified by faith, we have peace.” Defense of the Augsburg Confession [XII (60)]

"Before we defend our position, we must first say this: All good people of all situations, even the theological profession, undoubtedly confess that the teaching of repentance was very much confused before Luther’s writings appeared. 5 Theologians were never able to explain satisfactorily the numberless questions found in the books of the commentaries on the Sentences. The people could not grasp the big picture, nor could they see what things were necessary for repentance, in which peace of conscience could be found. 6 Let any one of the adversaries come forth and tell us when the forgiveness of sins takes place. O good God, there is such darkness! The adversaries do not know whether the forgiveness of sins happens in attrition or contrition. If forgiveness happens because of contrition, why do we need Absolution? What does the Power of the Keys bring about, if sins have been forgiven already?" Defense of the Augsburg Confession [XII (4-6)]

Proverbs 17:15 "He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the Lord."

Oh, and there's a weeding out system here. Have the wrong personality? Say bye-bye. Of course...they wont weed you out until you've paid two year's worth of tuition first. Then you get that letter your sophomore year that essentially says 'work on your personality or forget about coming back.' (oh, and thanks for sending that letter to arrive at my house on Christmas Eve. Stay classy, MLC.)

What the heretics at MLC teach:

"The Bible and Lutherans teach that God judged all sinners righteous [justified] in his sight when Jesus Christ died on the cross for us. God declared everyone free from the guilt [justified] and punishment owed for our sins. The sinner receives this free gift of forgiveness, not by doing good deeds, but only by faith. A person is justified when he or she believes in Christ and his redemptive work. It is a gift from God."

This is an anti-Christian ("Lutheran") college that teaches and defends the false gospel of Universal Objective Justification that has been condemned for centuries by Martin Luther, St. Paul (Bible), and the Christian Book of Concord 1580.
